NEW AREA!!!

Hello!
so the changes came Saturday night and they were quite unexpected. I
thought I was sure i was going to stay in Tehuantepec because I have
about 3 changes in each area so far, but turns out that's not the case
:) The did a little thing called "whitewashed" the area. My first clue
was that on Friday I was randomly invited to a training meeting for
District and Zone Leaders. Kinda weird since I wasn`t either one of
those, but I went and had a good time seeing some buddies that i
hadn`t seen in a long time. well, Saturday night the changes came in
around midnight and turns out Im going to a ward called Cosijopí as
District Leader :) haha. I`m excited about the ward. I`ve met some of
the members because I have gone to two of the activities they had last
weekend because they had to do with people I had met (because the
areas are neighboring) namely a wedding of a sister who changed from
my ward to this one in the middle of the last change, and a baptism of
a guy I met who helped us find some stuff we needed in El Centro. So
ya, I`m excited about that. The thing I`m not entirely excited about
is that my new companion has a reputation for being the most
irritating missionary in the mission...
When I first heard this I was quite upset to be honest. The last
couple weeks in Tehuantepec were tough. I`m not sure exactly what the
main reason was... I think it was a culmination of a lot of things
like the heat, my lazy comp, always being lost with horrible
directions, the lameness of and lack of things I needed in the house,
etc. but I felt like I was loosing my mind and about to go crazy. I
started loosing my drive to work and just wanted to be home. I was
hoping this change they`d just put me with a good comp in a house that
was adequate and that I could just have a good change working at
a good steady pace, but then I realize that in precisely this moment,
The lord decides that the thing that is going to help me most is to
put me with this guy. I`m not gonna lie, my response was not one of
faith at the beginning, but then as I thought about it, prayed,
pondered, and reflected, the Lord helped me to calm down and has
blessed me with a new kindled spark of hope somehow. I also got some
advice from his last comp Elder Mortimer who told me to just serve him
wherever I can, focus on getting to know and helping the members, and
thinking of everything I`m good at and putting it to use in the work.
he said that way he did it this change and he said he had a great
time.
so, we`re going to see how this goes. I`m sure, though, that this is
what the lord has prescribed for me in my particular situation and I`m
going to give it my best shot.
Well, that's the big news! Have a great week and remember that I love
you all :) thanks for everything.

Love,
Elder Spencer Henze

Week 6 Already!

Hey everyone!
sorry I didn´t write last week. I was pretty busy and this week has
been a pretty similar story. but just to give you the update, things
are going well here! this week was pretty slow but we have a baptism
scheduled for this Sunday and lots of potential references. I´m a
little afraid of my companion leaving next Monday cuz even with six
weeks here I still don´t know the area very well. The streets are
nameless and curve around all over the place. when people give me
directions it just makes me want to fall asleep because they make no
sense. haha. oh well, I guess that's just how it goes. it´ll definitely
keep me entertained with my next comp.
There's not much new stuff to report. we´ve been trying some new
methods and its been working out alright. well, sorry so short but I
gotta run. I love you guys! thank you so much for all your love and
support. as always its much needed.

love,
Elder Spencer Henze
